This is what Professional Kickboxers said:

A little while ago we went to Fred Royers Kickboxing Gym in Arnhem, the Netherlands to introduce him to Torsten’s way.
Fred  Royers is one of the most famous kickboxers from Holland, he was a famous fighter back in the eighties and nineties.
He gave us a warm welcome  and was willing to take some time to work with Torsten.
Immediately Torsten asked if  he could punch Fred in the stomach, which was OK..

The rest is history!

Torsten with Fred Royers

Fred excitingly asked the other Kickboxers in the gym to come and experience. The first one was Ray Staring, a top recently retired K1 champion.
As you can see on this video, he was convinced....

look here how Ray takes a soft punch...

From Ray's weblog:
Translation: Torsten had us (Fred, Nale and me) experience what he means with punching “into” something. First a few regular punches on the plexus, and then one in his special way....not pleasant I can tell you....

- You practice how to always use the falling motion of gravity as your impuls for your movements.

- Visualising your movement will make it more free and more effective...

Great stuff, almost unbelivable but I know it is real.
When I stop efforting my appreciation of life improves 200%
Why do we question anything simple its almost like we do not want to believe our higher self exists.
The way that Tortsen moves reminds me of the perfect throw in wrestling sometimes it just was no effort everything in balance and irresistable.
Thanks for sharing - Love Tim

I just want you to write how I experience your System, as it adds a completely new dimension to my life.

I think it adds a significant new dimension to martial arts as well.

A bit about my background. I have 25 years experience in the  martial arts, including eight years of  Thai boxing contests, in which I have fought several German and European champions. My greatest success was my German vice-championship in Korean full-contact boxing. Due to an injury I have trained for two years in classic boxing. In recent years my focus was mainly in the Israeli military self-defense arts. My motivation was always to train as realistically as possible.

The more it surprised me that in your way of boxing I found a thusfar unknown effectiveness. In the the impact of punches as well as the speed and how to get to your opponent, there is a quality and strength which I have  never seen in any other martial art.
After the first day of the seminar I thought that this ability is only reserved for you...

When, on the second day of sparring, you  have shown me that by testing your principles there was for me an immediate significant increase in my ability to fight, for which I am still surprised! I thank you for your openness, for teaching this approach publicly, and look forward to the next opportunity to train with you.

With best wishes, Thomas

Torsten Kanzmeiers Leigong Neiquan is not a Ineternal Martial Arts hybrid but a unique and independent internal Style (Neijia) in the tradition of Tan Tien Tschuan (founded in the 70ies by Helmut Barthel)

This system is not only suitable for students of soft or internal fighting arts but almost for everybody who is interested in martial arts. Leigong Neiquan imparts very specific knowledge and ideas that are originally  propagandized in many martial arts systems, but realised only theoretically.

I will remember Torsten as a wonderful and lovely human being and I wish him good luck and success for distributing his rare and special view and knowledge about martial arts.

The main thing that I took away from meeting him was his enthusiasm for sharing. In todays world it’s refreshing to find someone who is more interested in being a nice person, and a friend, instead of using teaching as a way to stroke his ego.  I really liked what he was doing for the simple fact that it is principles that can be used to improve any martial art. I particularly liked the shamanic elements of his style for the simple fact that they are not some esoteric set of strict rules. Instead, they are a playful set of thoughts that can be used in day to day experience. If anyone is interested in attending one of his seminars I would highly recommend it.

I asked him about his take on fighting strategy and how to bring the attack to his opponent.  He demonstrated how he closes the gap and uses an intuitive, sort of magnetic sense of seeking to hit me.  He wasn’t planning anything out or using a rote technique.  Each time he suprised both of us by moving in very unexpected but effective ways.  Also his thows are good, wherever you resist he likes to sort of melt around and find good leverage to send you down.

Overall I recommend Torsten to anyone who wants to play and practice.  What he does seems to me to contain what those of us who do internal martial arts seek.  And overall there is a good feeling about it, the sense that natural movement and grounding can apply to the rest of one’s life as well as martial arts.

Torsten practices a very interesting and idiosyncratic art clearly related to taiji, though differing in mechanics and approach from other neijia lines I have encountered. In this difference, he seems to have found something very subtle.
Andrew, California

In short, what he does looks and feels (to me) like higher-level taiji work, but he doesn’t follow the traditional taiji curriculum to get there.  One example would be an apparent bypass of the work on basic IMA body mechanics — his approach comes from a completely opposite direction.  I’m not saying if it’s good or bad — it’s just different, and it seems to work.  He (his style) of course doesn’t have nearly as long a “history” of transmission yet as taijiquan does, but — so far so good!

torsten is working from a Socratic method….he is asking people to feel and move and come from a different place than they normally do when they try and do things…..there is no abc or 123…..there is lots of exploring and playing…..we did lots of stepping, and sensitivity work, learning to move with gravity and to feel the movement of others, there was alot of working with our perceptions and recognizing our normal way of holding ourselves and others….it was a great experience, he is a sklled teacher and fighter with a unique way of doing things…..you cannot put it in a box.
Thank you very much.  Wish you all the best and if you ever need anything from me, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  You now have a close/good friend in Atlanta (as you hopefully know already.)

The internal movements of Torsten makes the opponent subconciously relax; it already happened before one registers it! That’s why it all looks very simple and effortless, even unreal! I noticed how difficult it can be to become simple..

To sum it up in one sentence; I got the explanation that was missing from my systema training. So now my punches have become much more effective, and I know what I am doing.

A workshop with torsten is a very special experience. What I like about his approach is that he seemed to have found a way to dissolve tension and pressure in possible confontational situations. He teaches how to stop the wanting and needing to do something and just act! Although he could easily put me on the ground it didn’t feel unpleasant. This methods works deescalating!

In punching you dont use physical power, but mental power. Its bottom line like a feeling like love, and it is very effective!!

In the book I clearly describe how my style works.

there are many practical excercises you can do immediately, and will give you the desired effect. In essence my style is very very simple. It is very challenging though to always remain with the simplicity.

As soon as your mind starts to make things complicated, the techniques do not work. The mind is leading. You'r thinking and imagination determine the results of your techniques.  And in a sense I am not even speaking about techniques, because it is all about "unbroken movement"!

Unbroken movement turns any movement into an effective technique...

There is a whole section in the book on "mirror neurons" in the brain that describes why my technique has the incredible effect on the opponent. For people who experience my techniques for the first time, it is very hard to accept what has happened.

My style overrules people expectations. And turns their perception upside down. This is the real Taijiquan the Masters are writing about. But who am I to say that. Go and find it out for yourself!

It is a fun thing to learn how to influence others, how to disolve their resitance through your own movement.
